PRIMER
Our users choose PRIMER because:
- They can rely on it to maintain the integrity of the data
- They can find and fix errors easily before running LS-DYNA, avoiding wasted CPU time
- They can quickly and easily see and edit all the LS-DYNA data and understand the structure of the model
- The specialist tools such as spot welding, airbag folding and Part Replace are quick and easy to use
- Typically, with PRIMER, the time taken to assemble, modify and debug models is reduced by 80%; the percentage of error-free runs rises from 40% to 95%
- Models can be organized to allow teams to work efficiently in parallel on different components of the same model, with version control and automatic assembly of different crash load cases

Please note:
Users will need a new license file to run the version 10 software. The version 10 software has been compiled using version 11 of FLEXlm so user need to update their FLEXlm license servers. The version 10 license file and license daemons are backwards compatible with the 9.4.2 (and earlier) software releases. However, to run 64 bit versions of 9.3.1 (and earlier) on Unix and Linux machines user will need to replace the file flcheck93.exe in the 9.3 installation directory with a new version of flcheck93.exe provided with (but not used by) the 10 installation. If this is done, the version 10 software will work with the new license file format.
Users, who plan to move to version 10 from a prior version of the Oasys software should request updates to license files. For future releases Arup considers dropping support for the HP-UX, Sun Solaris, SGI IRIX and IBM AIX unix platforms.
Arup will not be mailing CD's, hardcopy Installation Guides and hardcopy Release Notes for this release.
