LS-OPT

LS-OPT is a comprehensive and independent optimization program from LSTC. It is well suited for solving highly nonlinear optimization problems and is thus an ideal solution for use in conjunction with LS-DYNA. However, LS-OPT can be combined with basically any solver.  LS-OPT works on the basis of a special, extremely effective Response Surface Method (RSM). Furthermore, stochastic methods for assessment of the robustness of FE models and visualization of dependencies between optimization variables and objectives are available. User input is supported by a convenient graphical user interface.

The seminar provides an introduction to the LS-OPT program. General theoretical aspects of the Response Surface Method will be discussed, and specific possibilities for the application of this method in LS-OPT will be presented. In particular, the use of LS-OPT in conjunction with nonlinear FE solvers will be covered. Seminar participants will be able to apply the knowledge acquired in practical examples.
