Dummy Modeling
The objective of the course is to give an outline on the available features and models for occupant simulation with LS-DYNA. The course is recommended to engineers interested in the simulation of side or frontal impact. In addition the course addresses questions related to investigations of the behavior of seats under dynamic loads applied by a dummy model. The lecturers are busy for many years with the development of the worldwide used FAT side-crash dummy model and recently rear-crash dummy model.
Content:
- Which dummy models are available for LS-DYNA?
- What is the difference between the front-crash dummy models of FTSS and LSTC?
- When to use the FTSS-, the LSTC- or the FAT-model?
- FAT side-crash dummy models
- FAT rear-crash dummy model BioRID II
- Which limitations do the dummy models have?
- How to position the dummy model?
- How to model a seat belt?
- How to model pre-tensioners, slip-rings, etc.?
- How can a seat belt be fitted to the dummy model?
- How to avoid difficulties appearing in soft foams of the dummies and seats?
