Human Modeling
This information day is designed to give an overview of the human modelling options included in LS-DYNA. For this purpose, the Total Human Model for Safety (THUMS) will be presented in various applications, and the basis used for validation explained. The THUMS model was developed by Toyota Central R&D Labs. Inc., Toyota System Research Inc., and Toyota Motor Company in collaboration with several universities. The model is commercially available through DYNAmore. THUMS is mainly used to simulate the injuries of a driver and a pedestrian. In addition, other comprehensive, more detailed models currently being used by scientists and researchers should be discussed briefly.
