Verrippte Bauteile – Kugelimpaktversuche und Simulationsergebnisse mit LS-DYNA

Material models for thermoplastic polymers are still subject of research and development. The commonly used material models for crash simulation were developed for metals. This paper shows a way from material data to component testing and simulation for different material models. A state of the art material model “PICEWISE LINEAR PLASTICITY, MAT24” has been chosen as reference. As improved material model for polymers, material model “SAMP-1” is used. The simulations using the different models are compared with experimental data.
