New features of eta/DYNAFORM5.5

J. He (ETA) The sheet metal forming simulation is fast emerging as an integral part of the automotive product development cycle. The flexibility, reliability and accuracy of sheet metal forming simulation have shed light to the tool and die industry by improving tool design, shorten tool making lead time and reducing the associated cost, troubleshooting of stamping and many more. As the demand of sheet metal forming simulation accelerates, the need for new sheet metal forming simulation technology and requirements has grown rapidly. In this paper, the evolution of LS-DYNA based sheet metal forming simulation technology and requirements of tool and die industry will be presented. The key feature of DYNAFORM5.5 includes Blank Size Engineering (BSE), Die Face Engineering (DFE), Die Structure Analysis (DSA), Springback and Springback Compensation Process.
